It was first brought up by colombo, a NFT artist. After the disclosure of Colombo, the owners of the illustration quickly replied by confirming that the figure in question did indeed belong to them.
Thanks for bringing this up @Jdotcolombo. @yugalabs doesn't have a license to the wolf skull drawing. The intellectual property rights for the drawing belong to Easy Drawing Guides as it's our original drawing and protected by our Terms and Conditions.

This led Yuga Labs to delete any use of the image on its platform and its presence on social media. Easy Drawing Guides is a design company dedicated to drawing tutorials for kids and beginners. The drawing was initially announced by easy drawing guides such as "a step-by-step drawing tutorial" to try to draw a wolf skull.
Yuga labs said they hired an independent artist to create the design. No license or authorization was obtained from the original artist which was signed with easy drawing guides, although the company's terms explicitly prohibit the use of its proprietary content in commercial settings. The bakc collection was first published in June 2021, with a trade-mark for the logo applied in November of that year. It was first published in April 2021.
This event is both shocking and ironic insofar as the central idea behind the NFT is to help solve the problem that is currently at your fingertips: intellectual property, and safeguarding artists against theft. Yuga Labs co-founder Greg Solano issued a statement confirming that all advertising material had been removed.
Having regard to the demands today on the bakc logo. That was news for us and we continue to investigate. Have contacted the freelance we have engaged for this design and easy drawing guides. We’ll be changing the logo and updating it on our site / ask marketplaces to change as… https://t.co/OwtflDXehz
