Mel Gelderman

Mel Gelderman is a Dutch entrepreneur and investor. He is the Co-founder of Decentralised Finance (DeFi) company Monolith (formerly TokenCard), having served as its CEO since 2016.

He was named one of Business Insider’s ‘Fintech 35 under 35’, has been featured in Forbes, created one of the first use cases for Ethereum in the geothermal power sector, and has spearheaded one of the quickest ICOs in history raising over $17m in a matter of minutes. Before Monolith, he founded an Algae biofuel company serving the Asia-Pac market.

Gelderman has a passion for decentralized finance and blockchain. He once traveled the world exclusively living on Bitcoin, untethered from traditional finance.
