Key cryptocurrency exchanges, such as bybit, bitmex, and bitfinex, pledged to support the victims of Turkey's disastrous earthquake with packages of assistance.

Binance also seeks to assist those impacted.

  • An earthquake of a magnitude of 7.8 hit the south of Turkey earlier today (6 February) and killed more than 1,500 people. Hundreds of buildings have collapsed, which means the number of casualties could increase dramatically once emergency services move through the rubble.
  • Many governments, companies and companies have sent their condolences to the country of Asia and have promised to help it in this drama. Bitcoin, bitfinex, and bybit cryptocurrency exchanges put their names on the list, too.
  • In a Twitter post, BITMEX said their thoughts are with all the people affected by the cataclysm. He pledged to pay the proceeds of this week's commercial competition to the Red Crescent to support the Turkish victims.
  • Bitfinex assured it is working on an aid package and promised to provide updates as soon as possible.
  • Bybit was “deeply saddened” by the news and sent condolences to those who lost family members or friends.

"Our assistance has reached the affected area. We wish all Turkish friends the very best and look forward to overcoming this disaster with the least damage,' added the platform.

  • Changpeng Zhao – CEO of BINANCE – revealed that his company is also exploring ways to help.
  • Cryptocurrency organisations have already supported the affected areas, such as Ukraine.
  • Binance, Kraken, and many other industry players donated millions of dollars worth of digital assets to the country shortly after Russia launched its “special military operation” a year ago.
