Technological innovations related to blockchain technology continue to emerge. From real estate to data services, these applications are excellent use cases for how Blockchain technology will reshape the face of digital information.

A recent development in the Blockchain technology space may be used to put an end to  (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks, according to Inc.com. These attacks use mass queries to make a website unnecessary for its users, and cause impacted sites to be offline.

Central or decentralised.

Current systems use centralized servers to try to absorb the large volume of spam information that can result in DDoS. However, the nature of ddos attacks makes the bandwidth necessary to process so much data almost overwhelming.

A decentralised platform enables the user to rent his bandwidth, which can then be pooled so that much more data can be processed, significantly reduce the chance of successful ddos. According to inc.com:

“By using Blockchain, Maryland-based Gladius is creating a system that would allow people to rent out their unused bandwidth, so that it can be used to absorb malicious DDoS traffic and mitigate attacks.”

The decentralized platform offers a system to access and use common bandwidth much better than centralized single server models, where bandwidth is limited.
