The Four Horsemen of the Cryptocalypse

There are 6251 coins listed on CoinGecko.  That's nearly 6000 more than the amount of circulating currencies worldwide.  But nobody cares about Slothcoin.  Who are the top four cryptocurrency investors?

Everyone knows about Bitcoin.  Most everyone knows about The digital currency With Ethereum.

Is news about Monero being censored by the 5/9/14-eyes countries?

Will the US Dollar stay important enough over the next 10 years to keep Tether, afloat?

Bitcoin

The Original Gangsta of financial industry replacement, Bitcoin, or BTC, is currently the biggest cryptocurrency in the world.  This has caused the coin to become synonymous with cryptocurrencies as a whole.  Because of its popularity, Bitcoin may not become extinct.

The digital currency With Ethereum

The only other cryptocurrency in nearing the same order of magnitude as BTC, The digital currency With Ethereum, or ETH, is Bitcoin's functional kid sibling.  In contrast to Bitcoin, With Ethereum is a way to pay, play, and create.  Because ETH works great, it has become the backbone for many, many projects with quite a lot of money behind them.

Tether

Tether, or USDT, is listed as the #3 cryptocurrency on Coingecko's list.  Presently, Tether is being used mostly for its functionality and connection to the United States dollar.  In its strength - the connection with the dollar - Tether is also its weakness.  A coin worth the same amount that has peaked in value will be worth less in the future, while other coins that haven't peaked will go up in value similar to how stocks or gold prices rise during times of recession.  Stablecoins can play an important role in creating a world where cryptocurrencies are commonly used. Tether will remain a significant cryptocurrency.

MONERO

Monero, or XMR, is my dark horse call.  It's hard to understand why many cryptocurrencies are unfamiliar with Monero.  It's like Bitcoin, but it's truly anonymous, and is easy to mine .  Monero's creator launched it under a pseudonym - Nicolas van Saberhagen; does that sound like any other cryptocurrency creators you can think of?  If you've never studied up on XMR, please do so.  Right now.  It's amazing.

Monero is in a bit of trouble because the governments of countries with big spying-on-everything-everyone-does operations don't like that they can't see what is going on: it's too well encrypted.  Is that a good thing or a curse?  Let me leave it up to you.

These are my choices for the Four Horsemen of the Cryptocalypse.  Hoard them, and watch the gains soar.
