The disgraced founder and former CEO of ftx attempted to contact and potentially influence the testimony of another exchange worker, according to the United States Department of Justice.

As such, prosecutors want to introduce two new rules for banking sureties.

  • Sam Bankman-Fried was released on a $250 million bond last December and is confined to the home of his parents. However, he appears to have attempted to contact ftx us general counsel ryne miller on the signal of the encrypted email application.
  • Remind that this is not the first case reported by the SBF to use the signal for contentious purposes. He wanted to sell the highly disputed Robinhood shares through the app in 2022.
  • The letter to Judge Kaplan outlined the message SBF sent to Miller:

I'd really like to reconnect and see if there's any way we can have a positive relationship, use each other as resources to the greatest extent possible, or at least check it out with one another.

  • The Ministry of Justice believes that Bankman-Fried has also attempted to contact other FTX and Alameda employees, which, according to the prosecutor, suggests "an attempt to influence" at least one of the future testimonies.
  • As such, the Department of Justice wants the judge to amend the SBF bail rules and add two additional ones. The first is to prohibit him from communicating with current or former employees or related parties of ftx, alameda or any of their affiliates, other than his family.
  • The second reading indicates that the SBF should be required to use encrypted messaging applications like Signal.
