Leading web 2.0 browser Opera recently announced the launch of a beta crypto browser to tap into the Web3 movement. According to opera, this beta will give users a range of services and possibilities. These include a constantly updated blockchain news feed, upcoming crypto participation and NFT airdrops, and a dedicated web3 events schedule. Additionally, users will also have access to a nonfungible token (NFT) gallery, blockchain communities, educational resources, live cryptography prices, and gas charges.

According to the Opera staff on their new crypto browser initiative:

"when the crypto browser project was implemented, we strive for an inclusive approach, the multi-channel strategy and adoption of as many dapp [decentralised application] partnerships and domain names as possible in order to make the use of crypto and web3 transparent to our users. '

Opera developed the first browser-based cryptography wallet more than three years ago. Now, the leading Web 2.0 browser platform has also forged business partnerships with some of the industry's heavyweights, including polygon, solana, unstoppable fields, nervos, celo, handshake and ens. Some of these partnerships are already active, while others, like polygon, will be officially announced soon.

The opera is also in transition from proof of work (pow) to proof of implementation (pos) to become more environmentally friendly. The platform will start using staking to check new transactions instead of mining.

Web3 is rapidly emerging as the spiritual successor to Web 2.0 and an integral part of the burgeoning metaverse.
