Whether you are a developer or know someone who code, the ergo team is currently looking for talented programmers to join its second ergohack! The deadline for applications for ERGOHACK II is 15 September 2021 and applications may be sent via ergohack.io.
After the great success of the initial ErgoHack in June 2021, ERGOHACK II will be held from 8 to 10 October. This hackathon will focus on the theme of social transformation in relation to the mass adoption of blockchain.
Proof-of-Work (PoW) Blockchain Ergo
Ergo is a Proof of Work (PoW) blockchain and it deploys decentralized applications (DApps) through a powerful and protocol-friendly native scripting language, ErgoScript. Just like Bitcoin, Ergo has the digital scarcity and the total supply of ERG (about 97 million) will complete its emissions schedule eight years after its launch on the main network.
Ergo, as a single platform for intelligent contracts, allows for more innovative and targeted economic implementations that the traditional banking sector cannot reach. How? By offering powerful tools and smart microfinance facilities. These include a local exchange system (let), a mutual credit association in which individual members can trade in a local currency. All loans under the LRS are recorded in a distributed LEDGER to ensure transparency and accountability.
