Various sources have reported today that the Elon Musk-owned company Tesla invested $1.5 billion in Bitcoins.

According to CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla, the figure was revealed in Tesla’s 10-K filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to its 10-K submission, the company invested approximately $1.50 billion in bitcoins over a period of 8 years and may acquire and hold digital assets from time to time or on a long-term basis. Furthermore, Quintanilla wrote, “We expect to be accepting bitcoin as a form of payment very soon.”
