Binance Now Authorized in 7 EU Countries — Sweden Becomes Latest Member State to Give Approval

Cryptographic exchange BINANCE is now legal to operate in seven European countries as a result of the last approval by the Swedish financial regulator. Overall, binary has been allowed to operate in 15 jurisdictions, seven of which are in the EU.

Crypto-change Binance today announced that its Swedish entity, Bi Nordics, Alta, "has been registered as a financial institution for virtual currency management and trading by the Swedish Financial Supervision Authority (FSA)." Binance explained:

Sweden becomes the seventh EU Member State in which Binance has obtained authorization, after approvals in France, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Cyprus and Poland.

Per nordkvist, Chief Executive of the Banking Division of the Swedish Financial Control Authority, Reuters said the fsa registration allows binance to launch a Swedish-language website and market its digital asset services directly to consumers in the Nordic country.

'Sweden has full EU legislation and other local obligations, so we have been careful to ensure that binance nordics ab has adopted risk and aml [anti-money laundering] policies to match this exacting standard,” said binance’s nordics and benelux lead, roy van krimpen. He further revealed:

Our next major task will be the successful migration and launch of local operations, including the hiring of local talent, the organization of more events and the delivery of more cryptography training in Sweden.

For the most part, binance received regulatory authorizations or approvals in 15 jurisdictions. Beyond Europe, crypto exchange has been authorized to provide services to Bahrain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa. It has also been approved by the Astana International Financial Centre of Kazakhstan, the Abu Dhabi World Market and the Dubai Global Shopping Centre.

Binance declared this week that it has the association of certified sanctions specialists (acss) working to improve the qualification of sanctions compliance professionals employed by global corporations.
