Unity gaming, the society of game software behind popular web3 favorites as decentralized and sandbox, collaborated with METAMASK and solana to integrate distributed blockchain and portfolio functionality into the web3 gaming experience.

MetaMask, ImmutableX, and Solana joined a growing list of verified solutions–a broad term for decentralized in-game third-party plugin applications approved on Unity. Currently, there are 13 solutions checked on Unity, including blockchain-based projects such as Algorand, Tezos, Infura, Nefta, Aptos, Flow, Altura, etc.

With more than a million Web3 players active every day, Unity and Metamask will leverage seamless web2-web3 connectivity, helping to integrate traditional Web2 players in the web3 space. Metamask already has a $100,000 grant program in place to support game developers who are looking to make web3 games.

Since its establishment in 2014, the unit has continued to raise the bar for the 2d/3d gaming experience. The Danish company, now headquartered in San Francisco, posted higher-than-expected earnings after posting gross revenues of $451 million in the fourth quarter of 2022. CEO john riccitielo, who previously served as president of the competition for electronic arts (ea), says the company will adopt cost-saving measures as part of its 2023 strategy. The company has already laid off more than 284 employees in January as it prepares to consolidate its operations in industries other than gaming. In November 2022, the company announced a merger with the Israeli app monetization company, ironsource, to see how they can increase their profitability by using their platform to develop mobile apps.

Metamask, by cons, will prove a valuable partner for the unit with more than 20 million active monthly users. The most popular mobile and browser-based wallet in the world has recently added phishing detection alerts to its mobile app to warn users to connect to a suspicious wallet address. The functionality comes in light of the increasing competition of the frontier portfolio service provider, which has recently released a browser-based version compatible with more than 35 blockchains. These two-type portfolios increased in demand as a result of heightened client safety concerns following the ftx drop. Ethereum CEO spoke about it in a recent blog post, adding: "Portfolio developers should start thinking a lot more explicitly about privacy.“

While Metamask SDK provides portfolio integration, ImmutableX is looking to expand the two-layer scaling opportunities for game developers and NFT creators by taking advantage of the platform. A similar scenario is expected of Solana, which recently proposed a network upgrade on the hill after a series of outages in February.
