Unity, a company developing game engines, announced the introduction of several blockchain-based integration options to its platform. The new options provide developers with opportunities, who can benefit from digital ID, tokens, non-figurable chips (nfts), and other technologies directly incorporated into the engine of the unit.

Unity Reveals New Decentralization Push in Its Gaming Engine

Unity, one of the biggest companies in the gaming industry, has announced support for a number of new blockchain technologies in its engine. The options, that focus on developers, will allow users to acquire the actual ownership of their assets within the game, as well as the management of chips and digital ID solutions that can be exported to the real world.

This means that developers will be able to leverage these technologies and integrate them into their games in a simplified manner, emphasize the creation of experiences rather than the technical problems arising from the implementation of complex blockchain. This includes developing games based on NFT-based models and experiences.

"Verified solution" technologies comprise 13 different software development kits for the integration of blockchain services. Aikon ore id, algorand, altura, aptos labs, dapper labs, immutable x, infura, metamask, nefta, pocketful of quarters, solana, tezos, and truffle are distributed solutions available for various purposes.

Some of these tools include token management portfolios, others are designed to facilitate the management of digital identity processes in virtual worlds, and others offer options for creating metaworms.

These "checked solutions" are freely available in the unity asset store, This means that even small developers can use them for training purposes and for building small applications that integrate the blockchain, Lower the bar to get to those tools.

Unity, Metaverse, and Web3

Unity is already being used in metaverse gaming powerhouses like The Sandbox and Decentraland, which are two of the most well known blockchain-powered experiences on the market.

John riccitiello, CEO of the unit, said he was optimistic that these technologies would be adopted in the not-too-distant future. In June, Riccitiello's vision included converting the Internet into a series of networked metaverse sites by 2030.

That's when it happened, Riccitiello said that over 50% of the real-time experiences available on the game market are constructed using Unity tools, making this approach even more meaningful when it comes to integrating these technologies into existing games.
