Flare is pleased to announce a formal partnership with blockchain safety expert FYEO. The company will conduct continuous safety audits of Flare's code bases, providing actionable feedback to support the development of smarter, more secure contracts and help minimize risk to all network users.
Rigorous audit and professional testing are a key part of Flare's blockchain security strategy. In addition to rigorous in-house testing, ongoing code audits help establish a level of security assurance for application developers and network users.
Flare Co-Founder & CEO Hugo Philion said, “We are building our protocols with auditor reviews initiated from close to day one. We think that ensures a more secure outcome than an auditor looking at a whole base of codes at the end of development."
In addition to ongoing partner verification, including FYEO, Flare also utilizes rigorous testing with testnets and a Canary Island network called Songbird. The network of canaries is a live but more experimental version of the flare (similar to Kusama's relationship with polkadot) where the flare can test its protocols. The network recommends that app developers and constructors do the same. Flare recognizes that minimizing risks, both from an audit perspective and from a test perspective, is crucial to enhancing user confidence in their reputation.
