Revealed by blockchain etherscan analysis platform, tether has frozen three addresses on blockchain ethereum holding over $160 million in usdt, stablecoin from tether attached to us dollars. It will prevent address owners from moving their money elsewhere.
Since 2017, tether has banned over 563 addresses from the Ethereum blockchain. Tether has not disclosed the owner of the address and the reason for freezing the accounts. However, a representative of Tether Crypto Outlet Coindesk did so on request from law enforcement without revealing any more details.
The owners of the funds likely participated in theft, fraud and money laundering. Tether has already revealed that she regularly works with security forces to freeze the activities of addresses suspected of being implicated in crimes.
