Early adopter of Bitcoin and Chief Executive Officer of Bitcoin.com, Roger Ver, says he has "enough money" to pay Genesis Global after being hit with a lawsuit by crypto-broker unit now bankrupt - GGC International.
The bitcoin cash promoter noted that he is happy to pay the amount he owes, but stressed that the deal requires genesis to stay creditworthy. In a new Reddit post, Ver claimed that Genesis failed to provide him assurances about its finances.
The digital FX group's broker and credit bureau went bankrupt after weeks of new funding attempts. Court records show that he has more than $150 million to finance his restructuring efforts.
Ver should have owed Genesis something like $21 million.
Genesis Vs. Roger Ver
Ver, who was once known as “Bitcoin Jesus,” claimed that the financial information provided by Genesis has been called into question by recent events. He even said that the crypto broker refused to clarify the information he had provided to him and instead elected to file a complaint.
The Bitcoin evangelist accused Genesis of causing "gaps between the valuation of client guarantees and their own digital assets.”
"Genesis can't expect its customers to play a game "heads customers lose, tails Genesis wins". At some point, at least since last June, the genesis seems to have gone below the credit line.”
GCC filed the suit against Ver in the New York State Supreme Court earlier this week, accusing the blockchain-industry veteran of failing to settle crypto options transactions that expired back on December 30. In total, twenty days have been allotted to respond to the summons, failing which he will be required to pay the full default amount.

This isn’t the first time Ver has been embroiled in a controversy surrounding the failure of payment. He made headlines last summer for allegations of defaulting on a debt. The chief executive officer of the corporation, Mark Lamb, claimed that Ver owes the firm $47 million in USDC stablecoin and was bound by a written contract and added that he had been issued a default notice for the same.
Ver, on the other hand, vehemently refuted the claims and claimed on the contrary that society owed him money.
