Layer-2 lab scale-up developer polygone launched a new product based on zero evidence knowledge: polygone id. The product functions as an identification infrastructure to ease and secure connections between decentralized applications and web3 users.

Developers say, polygon id will by default follow the tenets of proper identity, allow organizations to issue verifiable credentials to users and beneficiary organizations in order to verify these claims through a package integrated with the identity ecosystem. The product has been in development for more than a year since it was first announced, and this latest version is now available to the public. Polygon also indicates that they will publish an open-source software development package for polygon identification.

The zero-awareness identity stacks have existed for some time, Polygon's on the ground with Quadrata and IDNTTY, the resolution of the often difficult relationship between privacy and anonymity, particularly in cryptoal space.

As a noninteractive process of proof of zero knowledge, polygonal identification will allow users to send and receive information without compromising their own security and privacy in relation to blockchain transactions. It can be considered a transactional validation layer without requiring personal information in the transaction file, while maintaining source and confidence both on and off-line through intelligent contracts.

'to provide identity in a manner that the average consumer can use is the holy grail of adopting digital identity. So far, no other identity solution has been able to offer the scalability needed for widespread adoption by taking advantage of zk technology," says David Schwartz, co-founder of the polygon.

The requirement to disclose user-specific information has often been a disputed variable in the crypto space, in particular in view of the proliferation of centralised exchanges which require users to submit proof of identity via kyc frameworks (know your client). These frameworks are implemented due to compliance and regulatory policy, often associated with or managed by central banks for financial consumer protection.

The difference between polygon id and most other decentralised identification frameworks is the implementation of technology without knowledge, enable users to verify their identity or other identifiers without necessarily disclosing sensitive information," the polygon said.

Polygon claims that their new product can be utilized by developers to "unlock features such as an enhanced signup user interface, assist in regulatory compliance, help verify user identities and restrict access control to certain areas or features via token-gating." The polygon identification infrastructure will consist of four main tools: a checker sdk, a transmitter node, a portfolio sdk and a portfolio application.

Web3 protocols and community management platforms like kaleidos, fractals and collabs. The land has already promised to back up the new infrastructure. Other web 3 and metaverse platforms like the sandbox and the guild.xyz are also already creating integrations and onboarding processes for Polygon ID.
