Ethereum blockchain co-founder vitalik buterin updated his blog on the weekend, offering a "stealth address system" to better safeguard the privacy of blockchain users.

The protection of privacy remains a major challenge for the ecosystem, and 'improving this situation is a major challenge,' he said.

Stealth addresses are generated by portfolios and conceal public key addresses for private transactions. You need to use a special key called "expense key" to access this private operation.

Privacy protection is a key concern for blockchain ethereum, which is a public blockchain. There are already multiple mechanisms for protecting privacy.

A notable example, blending the Tornado Cash service, has its limits, with Buterin saying he can't hide "current assets like Ethereum (ETH) and major ERC-20 chips." says that is not possible.

Stealthy addresses will also add privacy safeguards to the domain names (SLAs) of the nft and ethereum domain name service.

Ethereum developer toni wahrstatter also confirmed buterin blog and said, 'Stealth addresses are used in any transaction where interaction between both parties should not be public. This is very promising," he said to CoinDesk.

He spoke of the need to find stealthy addresses in order to increase the day-to-day use of cryptocurrencies. "Think mainly about donations and paycheques," he said, pointing out that many people don't want others to see their private transactions on public blockchains.

"For example, when I buy a coffee in a supermarket, I don't want the supermarket to know who I'm with, how I make money or how I spend my money. Stealthy addresses are a new tool that is very easy to use," he said.
