At the time of writing, Fantom changed hands at $0.403, an increase of more than 103% from its earlier low of $0.198.
The Fantom Foundation, the development organization behind the project, recently discussed its major achievements in 2022, including massive transaction growth.
"Throughout 2022, Fantom has averaged between 500,000 and 1 million daily transactions, a huge and consistent difference from 2021."
The foundation has also reported an increase in decentralized applications (DApps) operating on the Fantom network.
In 2022, we witnessed the launch of many interesting DApps and projects on Fantom. Applications such as, 1inch, Premia, and UniDex have allowed users to take control of their finances independently, from making simple swaps to taking advantage of derivatives."
In order to attract more DApps to the network, the foundation said it is considering gas grants and other incentives.
"One of our top priorities is the monetization of gas, which will enable strong DApp teams to achieve sustainable revenue through revenue sharing based on the gas they use."
Last month, Cronje an internal letter that he sent to the Fantom team highlighting that the primary focus for the project in 2023 is to make it easier for developers to create DApps and build out the ecosystem.
“Over the next 12 months, our primary goal will be to create an environment in which DApp developers can create sustainable businesses, while differentiating us from other Level 1 solutions."
