Microsoft Teams Premium now boasts features powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 AI (artificial intelligence) language model, according to a blog published by Nicole Herskowitz, Vice President, Microsoft Teams (Feb .01).

“As we face economic uncertainties and changing ways of working, organizations are looking for ways to optimize IT investments and revitalize employees for business results," Herskowitz wrote.
More than ever, organizations need solutions to adapt to change, enhance productivity and lower costs. Fortunately, modern tools powered by artificial intelligence promise to boost the productivity of people, teams and organizations and fundamentally change the way we do business."
The changes to Microsoft Teams include over 400 new features and enhancements, including more advanced meeting capabilities to increase productivity and help strengthen software investments to lower costs.
The service is available for a limited period of time for $7 (dollars) per month, but will increase to $10 per month in the near future. The main attraction appears to be a device known as smart recap.
This progress results in auto-generated meeting notes, recommended tasks, and customized highlights to help users get the most important information for them, even if they miss a meeting. The aim is to make busy employees more efficient.

“With a 252 percent increase in weekly time spent in meetings in the first two years of the pandemic, we needed to find ways to “work smarter, not harder.” The pace of work and the amount of information required for screening has increased exponentially, especially with the meetings,' said Herskowitz.
"There's a ton of paperwork that takes time during meetings, such as taking notes, understanding the important points to remember, and understanding the right steps to take and the right owners."
To whom will new AI functionality be made available?
Additionally, some popular Microsoft Teams features are only available to privileged users. These include live translated captions, custom organization Together Mode scenes, and a number of virtual appointments features
More attractive for companies are the advanced protections meeting which boast a number of protective measures as watermark and sensitive content labelling at meetings. From now on Microsoft Teams Premium users will also have the ability to restrict users from recording meetings and copying text from the meeting chat in order to “deter leaks” or keep discussions private.
“As the meetings evolved into virtual and hybrid meetings, they created a new set of privacy challenges for organizations. Sensitive and confidential business conversations, such as board meetings, financial discussions or reviews of non-disclosed products, are now taking place in Teams meetings," said Herskowitz.
"Putting a Teams meeting in place is a quick and easy process, Having an additional layer of protection in place to help ensure the security of content and information is essential for sensitive meetings."
Lastly, the advanced service also includes webinars to allow users to organize events with registration waiting lists, virtual green rooms, and customizable start and end times. In December of 2022, Microsoft launched a 30-day trial of Teams Premium as a preview of the features available now.
The system, which uses Tesla technology, was brought into service earlier than expected because of anticipated energy shortages.
