Elon Musk’s Twitter Working On Crypto Payments, Files For Licenses In The US: FT

Twitter has begun applying for licenses in the U.S. to allow the social media giant to support digital payments, consistent with Elon Musk's corporate vision. The Financial Times reported that the move could also generate revenue streams for Musk’s social network and help the billionaire to strengthen the balance sheet. 

Musk appointed Esther Crawford as CEO of Twitter Payments, the division of the company responsible for constructing payment technology for the social network. 

Crypto users have been waiting a long time for payment of the platform's digital assets for a while now. The platform already supports Bitcoin tips via the Lightning network, Ethereum tips, and NFT avatars for Blue subscribers,

Anticipation for crypto payments intensified after Musk took over the company for $44 billion in October 2022. The deposit for the acquisition also revealed a plethora of blockchain entities as chipped BINANCE in equity for bootstrap takeover of Elon's massive.

After the acquisition was finalized, the binance CEO noted that his firm is willing to provide blockchain support for elon's crypto payments vision on the social platform. CZ added that Twitter should onboard multiple blockchains and digital assets, and not just BNB and Dogecoin.
